Here at Good Husbanding, we don’t often talk about being a Dad – even though many husbands are also dads. Many of the writers here have children, and are lucky enough to not be living through the nightmare of their child battling cancer.
For those of you that don’t know, September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, and we have been given the honor of sponsoring Kiss the Toad Creations. Kiss the Toad makes Superhero capes for children that are battling cancer, as well as the siblings who have to be strong while realizing that not everyone is immortal.
As parents, we recognize that sometimes, we need to be the support and guidance for children as they go through situations that we cannot control. Just like Alfred had to watch Batman fight battles – and be there patch him up when dark night came back wounded or otherwise scarred – husbands and dads alike need to be the Alfred of the house for their families as they fight the battles that need to be fought.
As parents, we understand this concept very well, and as such we are proud to announce:
Good Husbanding is sponsoring Jose and Aniston’s battles!
Jose is 8 years old, and with the help of his two little sisters he continues to battle his arch nemesis: Ewing’s Sarcoma.
Aniston is 7 months old, and will continue to battle Retinoblastoma with the help of her big sister.
As part of our sponsorship of these 2 superheros, both Jose and Aniston (as well as all of their siblings) will be getting double sided superhero capes to help provide them the support they need to defeat their nemesis!!
We will continue to follow Jose and Aniston as they continue their superhero training, so check back here for updates!
If you would like to sponsor a cape for a child that is battling their cancerous arch nemesis, feel free to contact Kiss the Toad Creations and help a kid realize that they can be superheroes!
About the Author: Abby Dryer's goal in life is to bridge the communication gap between men and women. She finds herself giving lots of marital advice to her guy friends whose wives don’t want to have to explain *everything* to their husbands. “Women are hard to understand. I’m a woman, and *I* don’t even get us sometimes! Goodhusbanding is a great guide to help men understand their women, and hopefully communicate with a little more confidence, because that’s what works… communication!”
